Time Flies When You're Having Fun
After many years teaching children's theater I now am in the midst of a rare opportunity. I have a small group of home-schooled kids that are diving deep into the depths of imagination and story telling with me. Perched on the book shelf observing the class everyday is a clock with a timer. The children and I set the timer before we start our activities. Magic happens. Truthfully, magic happens. We have noticed that the clock will DING when we are telling stories and laughing. If we are not, the clock silently stops ticking. It is the oddest thing. What I love most about this accidental magic that we have stumbled upon is that when the timer DINGS ,signaling the end of class, we jump up and down with excitement. Why? Because TIME must have liked our class to bestow the wonderful sound. Today, one of my little friends and I created a masterpiece of a story full of adventure, mystery, fairies, and ,of coarse, TIME. We saved TIME from a terrible fate......and at the end of class the clock was surely grateful. My friend jumped with glee and yelled, "TIME flies when you're having fun." TIME did fly.
